Matt Perkins / nudoru

Matt Perkins is an algorithmic artist based in Charlotte, NC, with a digital art career spanning several decades. His passion lies in blending technology and artistic expression, particularly by reinterpreting impressionist painting styles through computer programming.

His artwork involves writing computer code to create distinctive visual experiences. Rather than painting or drawing by hand, he provides the computer with precise instructions—using mathematics and clearly defined rules—to determine how each artwork evolves. Built-in randomness ensures that every viewing produces a fresh, unique creation—much like rolling dice, each outcome is unpredictable and one-of-a-kind.

Since mid-2021, his work has gained international recognition, featuring in exhibitions across North and South Carolina, as well as internationally in London and China.
