Francisco Ruiz
I am an artist deeply passionate about the revolutionary currents of the 20th century avant-garde. My work is strongly influenced by surrealism and cubism, two movements that have redefined the limits of art and perception. My fascination with Picasso is more than evident in my creations. I consider myself addicted to his genius and his ability to break down and reconstruct reality in ways that defy the imagination. Through my art, I try not only to survive his legacy, but also to pay tribute to him, reinterpreting his concepts and techniques with a contemporary and personal touch. Each of my works is a journey through time and space, where vibrant colors, abstract shapes and intense emotions intertwine to tell a unique story. I invite viewers to immerse themselves in my world, where the conventional gives way to the extraordinary, and the impossible becomes tangible. Welcome to my artistic universe, where each brushstroke is a door to new worlds and perspectives. The South of Spain.
Portrait of Woman I - Pop Edition, 1/10, January 2025
Digital painting.
The Pop Edition of “Portrait of Woman I” adds a new interpretative layer to the original. By incorporating vibrant colors in vertical stripes, I transform the monochromatic piece into a more dynamic and contemporary work, establishing a dialogue with the visual language of Pop Art. Each color stripe—green, blue, and terracotta—highlights different aspects of the composition, fragmenting perception and accentuating the multifaceted nature of the portrait. This use of color not only provides contrast but also intensifies the emotions and adds a new symbolic dimension to the piece. The original structure and lines remain intact, but the introduction of color breaks the uniformity, evoking a more experimental and playful reinterpretation of the feminine figure. It’s as if this version invites the viewer to experience the work through a more vibrant lens, where each color reflects a mood or a facet of the personality being portrayed.
